Louise K Young

Louise Kelly Young peacefully exchanged her earthly citizenship for her heavenly home on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the blessed age of 93. Louise, affectionately called “Lou” by her beloved husband Sam, was the ninth of fourteen children born to Benny and Marie, who raised their family with love, strength, and a deep reverence for the Lord.

Lou grew up in a time when God, church, and family were the heart of life. She deeply adored, cherished, and honored her family. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters, traveling together to plays, dinner theaters, cruises, shopping trips, and especially camp meetings, where her sisters embraced being fashionistas and her brothers looked ready for a GQ photoshoot, each one beautiful and sharply dressed.

In 1951, Louise married the love of her life, Samuel Young, Sr. United as one, they were blessed with five children—three daughters and two sons. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, Samuel; her son Leroy; her parents, Benny and Marie; and her siblings Jessie, John, James, Carlyle, Elize, Inez, Annie, Eunice, Abram and his twin, Robert, Rayfield, and Steg.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Samuel, Jr. (Regina); three daughters, Loretta, Stella, and Shari (Deondrea); four grandchildren, Shannon, Jamal, Samuel III, and Bailey Marie; three great-granddaughters, Tamryn, Raven, and Emerald; two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
